The Spirit of Chief Wahkiakum began transporting passengers in April 2006. The 20-person trolley car runs on Saturdays from Elochoman Marina to Skamokawa Center, through the Julia Butler Hansen Wildlife Refuge, and will pass many historical sites and attractions – including downtown Cathlamet, Vista Park, the Deep River Pioneer Church, the Wahkiakum Historical Society Museum, and more.

For more information, contact Jennifer Johnson by phone at 360.795.9996 or 360.200.2412 or by email at wchamber@cni.net

Owned and operated by the Wahkiakum Community Foundation, the trolley will be used for tours and shuttle services at festivals and events and can also be booked for private use.

The Spirit of Wahkiakum. The 1936 converted cable car, formerly used in San Francisco, is one of the few from its era still in original condition. Now equipped with a gas engine and truck chassis, The Spirit of Chief Wahkiakum was restored to match San Francisco’s historic trolley cars.
